It’s that wonderful time of year. September brought pumpkin spice back into our lives. So far the new ones I’ve seen this year are:

  • Pumpkin spice poptarts
  • Pumpkin spice cheerio’s
  • Pumpkin spice krispy kreme donuts
  • Pumpkin spice pretzels

…and probably a dozen other things I can’t remember off the top of my head. Seriously I think we should rename the seasons. They would go like this: “Spring, Summer, Pumpkin Spice, Winter”

Pumpkin Spice Latte Protein Oatmeal

While Justin always refers to it as being “basic” to enjoy pumpkin spice things in the fall (meaning we’re all just pumpkin band-wagoners). No, that’s not so much the case. I actually like pumpkin things but I don’t buy all these junky treats. I make my own with actual pumpkin and natural sweetener. Enter pumpkin spice latté protein oatmeal.

We all know protein oatmeal is a go-to breakfast of mine. I need to carb up in the mornings and this is done easily with oatmeal. One morning I got a little crazy and cooked my oatmeal in my coffee, stirred some pumpkin in with the protein powder and enjoy every large bite I took of it. And that was just the beginning of this wonderful pumpkin spice season. Get ready for more pumpkin recipes…

Pumpkin Pie Latte Protein Oatmeal

Pumpkin Spice Latté Protein Oatmeal

  • 1/2 cup oats gluten free, if necessary
  • 1/2 cup brewed coffee
  • 1/2 serving vegan vanilla protein powder
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice


  1. Pour brewed coffee over oats and microwave for 2 minutes

  2. Stir in protein powder, pumpkin, and spices. Enjoy!
